Samuel Hootini is an engineer and technical leader who has served as CTO across healthcare, real estate, e-commerce, and digital services. He has built and led engineering teams from the ground up — including running a seven-person technology department for a nine-figure marketing agency over a three-year tenure. His work spans cloud architecture, custom application development, and full technical strategy, with a focus on turning complex operational problems into reliable, scalable systems. At Companion, he owns the entire technical function, from infrastructure through product deployment.

His experience spans leadership roles at Apple, Pivotal, Intel, and Shell Oil. He has led teams at the intersection of infrastructure, data, and product execution — translating complex technical strategy into products used by hundreds of millions of people daily. Prior to his career in technology, he served as a NATO Joint Task Force intelligence operator and platoon leader, where he developed a foundation in high-stakes decision-making, clarity under pressure, and accountable leadership. Today, he works with founders and teams as a strategic partner — sharpening vision, strengthening execution, and helping turn ambitious ideas into durable businesses.

Evan Caron is Chief Investment Officer and Co-founder at Montauk Capital, where he leads investment strategy across AI, energy, industry, and infrastructure. With over 20 years of investing experience, he previously served as Head of Venture Investing at Riverstone Holdings, a $40B energy-focused private equity firm, where he built and managed a venture portfolio spanning markets, grid infrastructure, and AI technology. Before Riverstone, Evan held senior roles in trading and asset management at Deutsche Bank, Mercuria, and Trailstone, developing deep expertise in commodity markets, structures, and infrastructure finance. He has co-founded multiple energy and AI-focused companies and serves on the boards of several venture-backed technology companies. Evan brings a combination of operational market experience and venture capital expertise, with a focus on AI-driven software, systems modernization, and capital-efficient solutions — backing founders building the intelligence layer of the digital transition.

Amber is the Head of Talent at Montauk Capital, where she leads search and talent strategy for Montauk's venture studio. Prior to Montauk, Amber was the Director of Talent at Redesign Health, where she led executive and founder recruitment for a portfolio of newly launched venture-backed companies. Prior to Redesign, Amber was a Senior Executive Search Lead at TalentRise, leading executive searches for venture and PE-backed companies, building leadership teams around founders, and providing early-stage talent strategy, assessment and team building. At Switchyard, a recruiting platform designed for early-stage venture-backed tech startups, she scaled the firm's recruiting practice, managing the talent sourcing team and client relationships while hiring founding engineers and early leadership teams for Y Combinator backed and other venture-backed high-growth startups. Amber holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan.
